EMU :
The emu is a totally marketable bird. The emu eggs, feathers and toenails are being used as creative jewelry accents for fashion items. Each and every part of emu’s body is commercially valuable. The most important is its meat which is fat free up to an extent 97 to 98%. Its meat is rich in proteins having plenty of iron, vitamin B-12, & it is suitable diet for people suffering from heart problems. Its meat is easily digestible, very tasty and a very good alternate for chicken and mutton. Single bird can yield about 25 kg of meat. There is its high demand in international market.

The mature EMU is 5 to 6 feet tall and
normally weighs 100 to 140
pounds. Flightless, they are
strong runners and reach ground speeds of up to 40
miles per hour in short bursts,
covering about nine feet in stride.
